Exploring 'Kyoto by the Sea,' Home to Japan's Premier Scenic Views "Tango Area"

The Tango area is located at the northern end of Kyoto Prefecture. Amanohashidate, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, and the San'in Kaigan Geo Park, a coastline with a rich variety of landscapes, offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy seafood and local products while admiring the scenery along the coast. Amanohashidate

Address | Monju, Miyazu City, Kyoto The unique topography is characterized by a sandbar approximately 20 to 170 meters wide and 3.6 km long, on which countless pine trees grow wild. The sandbar has a path so that visitors can ride bicycles across to the other side of the river.

Ine no Funaya(Boathouses)

Address | 77 Hirata, Ine-cho, Yosa-gun, Kyoto About 230 private houses stand in a row along Ine Bay. The first floor is used as storage for boats, while the second floor and above are used as residences.
*The boathouse and grounds are private property. No unauthorized entry is allowed.

San'in Kaigan Geopark

Centered on San'in Kaigan National Park, the Geopark stretches approximately 100 km east to west from Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, through Hyogo Prefecture to Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. It is popular as a long ride course that offers spectacular views of the Sea of Japan and mountains.
